Gerald Benedict Johanneson passed over on April 30, 2024 after a courageous five-year battle with Pulmonary Fibrosis.
Gerald was a remarkable pillar of joy, kindness, and laughter to all who knew him; leaving a legacy rich with fond moments and endless stories.
Beloved husband to Gayle for 40 fabulous years; Gerald’s deep love and devotion were the heartbeats of his family life. As a devoted father to John, Susan, Joel, Christian (Alice), and the late Mary (Jud) he took joy as a loving grandfather to his 14 grandchildren. His playful spirit and endless tales made every moment with him a treasure.
Being a dedicated family man, Gerald was deeply committed; always ensuring they knew they were the most important part of his life. He cherished every family dinner, holiday gathering, and spontaneous visit - filling these moments with warmth and laughter. Gerald’s guidance and wisdom were pillars for his family, and he took immense pride in the successes of his children and grandchildren.
Gerald himself was a highly successful businessman. His career was marked by leadership, integrity, and a commitment to excellence that left an indelible mark on those he worked.
Gerald will also be fondly remembered by his brothers Thomas (Judy) and David (Barbara), along with many nieces, nephews, and friends. His laughter and genuine care enriched every gathering. A lover for rich foods and exquisite meals, rarely a meal passed without a cheesecake, cake, pie or a fine chocolate
